At Amsterdam Cooking Workshops we also provide team outings, staff outings and company outings, where you attend a cooking class with your colleagues. Depending on group size, we have several locations available in Amsterdam where we provide Indonesian, Japanese, Thai or Vietnamese cooking classes for you and your colleagues. In addition to cooking and dining together, a cooking class is also a fun activity to work on team building. If there is a kitchen in the company restaurant, we can also provide a cooking class on site.

Cooking class and teambuilding

A cooking class is a perfect way to finalize a team building day or week in an original and fun way. Duration of our team building cooking classes is 3.5 hours, of which 2 hours are reserved for cooking. During that time you work closely together with your colleagues to cook a delicious Asian meal under our guidance. In addition, there is plenty of time before and after dinner to have a drink and socialize with your colleagues. Depending on your preference, the cooking class can be provided in Dutch, English or both.

Asian cuisines

Indonesian, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese cuisines are available for team outings. You and your colleagues cook a variety of Asian dishes while enjoying a drink. Expect a full rice table with Indonesian cuisine and a 2 or 3-course dinner with several main courses with Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese cuisines. After cooking the dishes it is of course time for dinner and after dinner drinks!

Dietary requirements and allergies

The menu is based upon everyone's dietary preferences and allergies, such as: celiac disease, gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, peanut allergy, halal, pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan. Good to know: Thai cuisine is the most spicy and Japanese the least, Indonesian and Vietnamese are in between. Cooking spicy and less spicy versions of a dish is also possible. Indonesian cuisine can be made vegan the easiest.

Teambuilding

Per request, we can add a competition or Masterchef element to a team outing Asian cooking class. Your group of colleagues is divided into small groups of 2, 3 or 4 people. Each group cooks 2 dishes. Our chefs taste all dishes and give tips & tricks where necessary. The group that needs the least guidance and has cooked the tastiest dishes wins. We can decide upon whether or not to award prizes. This way, colleagues learn to work together in a different way, which naturally benefits team spirit and team success!

"Super Indonesian cooking workshop!"

As a company team outing we did the Indonesian cooking workshop with David and it was absolutely great. David is a good cook and teacher, he explained the basics of the Indonesian kitchen (ingredients, etc.) very well and let us taste his self-made sambals. In small groups we cooked parts of the final Indonesian dish and afterwards we had a nice dinner. It was a lot of fun, informative and very tasty. An absolute recommendation!
